Choosing a Dentist

What should I look for when choosing the right dentist for my family?

Choosing a dentist who is responsible, reliable and comprehensive is a big decision for any family. You will likely want to consider multiple dentists before you make a final decision, and we understand that. Here are a few things to keep in mind while interviewing your new dental provider:

  • Does the office appear to be clean and orderly?
  • Is the appointment scheduling convenient for your family’s schedule?
  • Do they offer emergency services to accommodate the unexpected?
  • Does the staff adjust to your pace? Meaning, do they take the time to explain, answer questions and go into detail when you want them to?
  • Is information about costs and dental procedure process made available prior to treatment?

New Patients

What does a new patient consultation entail?

Cornerstone Dental consultations begin with a brief, but thorough conversation around what you want from your smile. Our dental staff will answer your questions about our facility, capabilities and history prior to your examination. Post examination, Dr. Wright will develop and review a treatment plan with you and support staff to come up with a proper timeline for any additional services needed.

Should I arrive early?

Yes! We recommend all new patients arrive 15 minutes early to fill out forms, meet our front office staff and exchange insurance information.
Let us help you get a head start on the paperwork. Simply download, print, fill out and bring the new patient packet with you to your appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept all insurance! Our administration will work directly with your insurance company to get you the most out of your policy.

Can I bring my children with me when I have my visit?

Absolutely! Cornerstone Dental is a family friendly office!

Anxiety

How do you accommodate anxious patients?

Cornerstone Dental is unique in that we offer nitrous oxide aided treatment to help you relax during your visit.

Will I be unconscious?

No, you will be in a deeply relaxed state and always responsive.

How long will I be relaxing?

Depending on the procedure and your needs, anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours.

Will someone need to accompany me?

Most of our nitrous oxide aided services allow patients to drive home after their visit. If you are going to have anything major done, such as a root canal or wisdom teeth removal, you will need someone to drive you to our office and home again.

Children

At what age should I start taking my child to the dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend that children first see a doctor as early as six months old, and no later that one year of age. After this first initial checkup to examine baby teeth as they grow into place, you will want to schedule regular 6 month checkups.

CareCredit

What is CareCredit?

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card designed for your health, beauty, and wellness needs. It’s a way to pay for the costs of many treatments and procedures and allows you to make convenient monthly payments. For complete details of healthcare financing terms, please review the CareCredit account agreement within the application.

How is CareCredit different from using my my bank card?

CareCredit extends special financing offers that you can’t get when using your Visa or MasterCard to pay for health, beauty and wellness care at enrolled providers. With shorter term financing options of 6, 12, 18 or 24 months no interest is charged on purchases of $200 or more when you make the minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. If you do not, interest is charged from the original purchase date**.

CareCredit also extends longer term healthcare financing for 24, 36, 48 or 60-month periods with a Reduced APR and Fixed Monthly Payments Required until paid in Full.

Is CareCredit a medical insurance policy?

No. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card and it does not replace medical insurance policies that you might have. It is intended to help you pay for out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by your health plan.

Can I use CareCredit to pay for cosmetic and elective dental procedures, like dental implants, veneers and whitening?

Yes, you can use your CareCredit anywhere that it is accepted, for a variety of different dental services.

Can I use CareCredit to pay for necessary dental procedures, even if I have maxed out my medical insurance benefits?

Yes. CareCredit accounts are used to pay for all out-of-pocket costs. This includes cosmetic  services that are elective or restorative services that are urgent. Your CareCredit card can also be used to pay for medical insurance deductibles and co-payments.

Will CareCredit pay for preventative services as well as larger procedures, such as 6 month checkups?

Your CareCredit card can be used to pay for any and all dental services, including your 6 month checkups and cleanings.
